Meet the Scylla Team: The people behind the project

Yohann Mangenot, Elwann Guillemot and 4 others · 4 min read

The Scylla project is the result of a unique synergy between several young talents passionate about technological innovation. Although we are currently scattered across the globe for our studies, from Sweden to Quebec, by way of South Korea, the Netherlands, and Finland, we combine our complementary skills to bring this adventure to life. Discover the backgrounds, expertise, and worlds of those who design Scylla on a daily basis.

Sébastien Lucas: Project Founder and Backend Team Member

Hello everyone, my name is Sébastien Lucas, I am 22 years old and I am originally from Réunion Island. I am the creator of the Scylla project.

I am currently in my first year of a master’s degree in cybersecurity in Jönköping, Sweden, and I work as a software developer, mainly in Rust. By August 2026, I will be joining Cryptio as a Junior Rust Software Developer within the platform team. This will be my second immersion in the blockchain world, following an internship at iExec, a Lyon-based startup.

I have been evolving in the IT field for over 9 years now, with a particular expertise in DevOps. I have had the opportunity to work with various stacks such as Azure, Docker, or Kubernetes, and I was also a researcher for Microsoft in the third quarter of 2025.

Outside of tech, I am passionate about racket sports. I play club badminton, as well as beach tennis and tennis.

Elwann Guillemot: Head of Backend

Hello everyone, my name is Elwann Guillemot, I am 21 years old and I grew up in the Lyon region. I am currently on an exchange year in the Netherlands, at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen.

I am also a Rust developer, and I’ve been in IT since I was 13. I joined Sébastien quite early in the project because I know we can take it very far, and eventually, I hope, inspire others to contribute, replicate, and improve upon the research we will conduct.

I am passionate about the different applications of Rust and am particularly interested in the world of compositors like niri and shells like Quickshell, notably through GPUI-shell, an open-source project I love contributing to.

Alongside my projects, I really love competitive sports and dancing!

Rémi Fernandez: Head of Frontend

Hi, I’m Rémi Fernandez, I’m 24 years old, I come from the Paris suburbs, and I’m in my 4th year at Epitech Lille.

For the Scylla project, I am currently the frontend lead dev.

I am doing my exchange at Chung-Ang University in South Korea.

I have always been passionate about computer science. Originally, when I was a kid, what interested me most was cheating in games.

I started programming in my first year at Epitech; before that, I didn’t know much about it.

For all my internships, I was mostly on the frontend side, both web and mobile, but I like backend development just as much.

What I really enjoy in development is software architecture.

I like to look into how things are built, and like my colleague Ravenne, I have volunteered several times at VivaTech, which gave me a taste for innovation.

Outside of IT, I love playing the guitar!

Marion Kauffmann: Frontend Team Member

Hello, my name is Marion Kauffmann, I am 23 years old and I am on an exchange program in Quebec, at Université Laval. On the Scylla project, I am part of the UI / UX design team. I don’t really have a preferred area of expertise for now; I’m interested in many things. Outside of coding, I travel a lot and spend my free time on time-consuming games :)

I look forward to receiving feedback regarding Scylla and growing the project with you!

Ravenne Léopold: Frontend Team Member

Hi, I’m Ravenne Léopold, 21 years old, I come from the south of Paris and am currently on an exchange program in Sweden, in the Artificial Intelligence curriculum at Jönköping University.

I have specialized in software development, both desktop and web, for 3 years now, but my first lines of code date back 11 years, in Java at the time.

Otherwise, I am also very involved in community organizations and particularly in event management; for instance, I actively participate in organizing volunteer logistics for VivaTech, the largest tech event in Europe.

Yohann Mangenot: Project Management Lead

Hello, I’m Yohann, 21 years old. I am currently on a university exchange in Helsinki, Finland, at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. My role is to orchestrate the work of the international team working on the Scylla project and to ensure deadlines are met. To do this, I am responsible for structuring deadlines, streamlining communication between the different teams, and ensuring that geographical distance never slows down the group’s overall momentum.

Stay tuned!
